This adorable dog paid the library a visit last Saturday. She's a therapy dog named Annie and she is just as charming as she looks! Her owner, Patricia Sheldon, has been kind enough to bring her in for the return of our "Paws for Reading" program. There is plenty of information online about this, our favorite study is from Tufts and can be found here. We'll sum these articles up for those of you without the time to read up on it: therapy dogs provide a non-judgmental audience for children and reading to therapy dogs has been shown to boost literacy. Plus, look at that pup. If that face isn't enough, we've been promised that she will always come in some sort of outfit. If you are thoroughly convinced, the program will be held the first Saturday of the month from 10:30-11:30 in the morning.
